Introduction & Core Privacy Commitment
IndicStudio is committed to developing intentional, private software. Indic Habits was engineered under a strict "privacy-by-design" architecture. The application is completely offline, requires no user accounts or registration, collects no personal telemetry, and does not transmit data over the internet.
Information Handled by the Application
All data managed by Indic Habits is created by you and stored exclusively on your local Android device:
- Habit Definitions: Titles, optional cues/intentions, repeat schedule bitmasks, selected icon symbols, and visual color codes.
- Completion Logs: Dates of habit completion (yyyy-MM-dd) and completion timestamps.
- Archive Flags: Soft-archive status indicators.
Storage & Local Processing
- Local SQLite / Room Database: Your habits and logs are stored locally in private application storage (indic_habits.db) managed via AndroidX Room.
- No Remote Processing: There are no proprietary backend servers, external APIs, cloud databases, or tracking endpoints connected to Indic Habits.
Permissions Audit
Indic Habits declares zero special or runtime permissions in its AndroidManifest.xml:
- android.permission.INTERNET: NOT REQUESTED. The application cannot establish inbound or outbound network connections.
- Storage / Photo permissions: NOT REQUESTED.
- Location permissions: NOT REQUESTED.
- Contacts / Calendar / SMS permissions: NOT REQUESTED.
Data Leaving Your Device (Explicit User-Initiated Export Only)
The only mechanism by which information ever leaves the application's sandbox is when you explicitly initiate a JSON export:
- When you tap Export Data (JSON) in Settings, the app prepares a plain-text JSON structure and triggers the Android system Share Sheet (Intent.ACTION_SEND).
- You choose the recipient application (e.g., your preferred email client, file manager, or local backup drive). Indic Habits has no access to the destination chosen.
Third-Party SDKs, Advertising, and Analytics
- Advertising: Indic Habits contains no ads, banners, or advertising SDKs.
- Analytics & Telemetry: Indic Habits contains no Google Analytics, Firebase, Crashlytics, Mixpanel, or third-party tracking frameworks.
- Dependencies: The application relies exclusively on verified open-source AndroidX and Kotlin libraries (Jetpack Compose, Room, Lifecycle, Core-KTX).
Data Retention, Backups, and Deletion
- Retention: Data persists in your local app storage until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- User-Initiated Deletion: You can permanently erase all habits and completion history at any time using the in-app Clear All Data feature located in Settings.
- Operating System Backups: The application manifest enables standard Android Auto-Backup (android:allowBackup="true"), allowing your device's operating system to include local database files in your private Google Drive device backup, subject to your Android device settings.
- App Uninstallation: Uninstalling Indic Habits immediately removes all local database files from device storage.
Children’s Privacy
Indic Habits does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. No official store age rating has been assigned to this preview.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this Privacy Policy in future versions, the updated version will be published here with a revised effective date.
