Introduction & Core Privacy Principle

IndicStudio respects your personal privacy. Indic Tasks is designed from the foundation as an offline-first, privacy-respecting productivity application. The application does not collect, track, transmit, monetize, or sell your personal data.

Information Handled by the Application

A. Locally Stored Task Data

All content you create inside Indic Tasks—including:

  • Task titles and descriptions
  • List categories and color tags
  • Due dates and completion timestamps
  • Priority levels and view preferences

is stored strictly on your local device within a private Room SQLite database (indic_tasks.db). This data is exclusively accessible by the application sandbox on your device and is never uploaded to any remote server or third-party service.

B. Technical & Device Information

Indic Tasks does not collect device identifiers (IMEI, Android ID, MAC address), location data, advertising IDs, or behavioral analytics.

Permissions & Network Access Audit

The supplied preview build uses the following permission configuration:

  • android.permission.INTERNET: NOT declared. The application cannot make or receive network transmissions.
  • android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / Media Permissions: NOT declared.
  • Location Permissions: NOT declared.
  • Contacts / Camera / Microphone: NOT declared.

Third-Party Libraries & SDKs

Indic Tasks contains zero third-party tracking, advertising, crash reporting, or telemetry SDKs. The application is compiled exclusively against official, open-source AndroidX and Jetpack libraries:

  • Jetpack Compose (UI framework)
  • AndroidX Room (Local SQLite persistence)
  • AndroidX Lifecycle & ViewModel (State management)
  • Kotlin Coroutines (Local asynchronous operations)

Data Retention & Deletion

  • User Control: You can delete individual tasks or custom lists at any time within the app interface.
  • Clearing Data: You may purge all application data at any time via Android System Settings (Settings > Apps > Indic Tasks > Storage > Clear Data).
  • Uninstallation: Uninstalling the application completely erases all local SQLite database records and preferences from your device.
  • Operating System Backups: If you have Android Auto-Backup or Google One backup enabled on your device, your local database may be included in encrypted device backups managed according to your Android OS settings.

Children's Privacy

Indic Tasks is a general-purpose productivity utility suitable for all ages. It does not solicit or collect information from children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

If this policy is updated in future releases, modifications will be reflected in the updated release notes and published at the official policy link.
